Matt Cutts was at WordCamp 09 and recently delivered what is probably one of his best presentations on SEO for beginners. Not only did he do a great job of describing the basics of search engine optimization, he delivered some classic Matt Cutts quotes that I’m going to hang on to for a while.

One of my recommendations for beginners and seasoned SEO professionals has always been to keep up with your basics. Search marketing tactics and techniques evolve so frequently that assuming you know the basics will get you in more trouble than you know. Case in point, SEOmoz recently reported in their June 22nd SEO Best Practices post that H tags may not be as important as they once seemed. That’s why I encourage you to watch this video even if you think you know basic SEO like the back of your hand.

Listen for my two favorite Matt Cutts quotes (warning they are a bit pg-13) and see if you hear’em…

1)    ”If they are from Digg.com people come on your blog and leave.”

2)    ”Who do you hate more, the Nazis or the hacker who hacked the Nazi website?”

I’m telling ya, it’s a good watch, you’ll enjoy it!
